The jury of the Sybren Hellinga Art Prize 2022 is very pleased to announce Peter Scherrebeck Hansen as the winner of this 9th edition.

During Open Monument Day on Saturday, September 10, Kunsthuis SYB will screen the latest film “RAFTS” (2021) by artist and composer Rory Pilgrim (1988).

On Sunday, July 31, Charlotte Eta Mumm will present her research Grund and reason in Kunsthuis SYB. You are kindly invited at 3 p.m. for the festive final presentation. 

It is with great pleasure that the board of Kunsthuis SYB announces that Arnisa Zeqo has been appointed director from 1 July 2022 onwards.

On Sunday July 10, at 3 pm Sol Archer will present the film he made during his residency Gardening Practices at Kunsthuis SYB.

On Saturday 2 and Sunday 3 July 2022, there will be another Art Weekend in Beetsterzwaag, which takes place around the Hoofdstraat. This year’s theme is ‘Open your heart’.

Sol Archer will be in residence at Kunsthuis SYB from May 30 until July 10 2022 to develop a film work about the maintenance of environments and ecosystems through gardening practices.

During Arcadia (May 7 to August 14, 2022), the entrance hall of the Fries Museum will be brought to life with a so called speculative installation titled SWIET – SWIT.

Kunsthuis SYB welcomes Charlotte Eta Mumm. She started the first part of her residency ‘Grund’ on April 7 and will stay at SYB until May 5 to research and collect different types of Frisian soil.

What can you do and make in 24 hours? From March 23th to April 3rd, 18 third- and fourth-year students from Academy Minerva will spend one day and one night at Kunsthuis SYB.

On Sunday the 20th of March, Liza Prins will be presenting her project Bitterswiet – A Tiny Mulder Inquiry at Kunsthuis SYB.

The Fries Museum in Leeuwarden has acquired two works by Inge Meijer that she developed last summer at Kunsthuis SYB.
